Presentation Gaiata 15 “Sequiol”

It was the night of Sequiol, of its Commissions, and above all, it was the night of Àgueda Ibars, Nagore García and Iker Miralles. Finally came the big day, November 18, 2017, Palau de la Festa, gala night and many emotions.

Shortly before the start time of the presentation, all the protagonists, Madrinas, Presidents, Ladies of Honor, companions, elders and children, collaborators and standard bearers met to receive the first surprise of the night. A little train would bring them to the Palau de la Festa. A modern Panderola that made everyone enjoy, big and small.

The arrival of the train to the Palau was received by the “Secció de Dolçaina i Tabal” of the Sequiol, always present in the important acts of our Gaiata. There were relatives, guests and friends, to receive with a strong applause the representatives of the Sequiol in their parade towards the interior of the Palau.

A few minutes later the lights went out and the act began with a majestic stage, very sober and with many chairs prepared for the arrival of the numerous commission drought. Out of the darkness, the wonderful voice of the singer Noelia Agramunt with the “I will survive” of Gloria Gaynor. With the Led screens, and the dancers of Castellón Baila accompanying the song, the Palau was transformed into a spectacular Broadway theater and the first tears of emotion began to come out of the eyes of our top players. Àgueda would never have imagined that her aunt Noelia, recovering from the break in her left foot, would act on such a special night for her.

After a shocking start, the presenter Rubén Peña, great master of ceremonies, made the standard bearers on the stage, Fernando Carratalá and Carlos Porcar, as well as the collaborators and band carriers, Marta Berí, Yomara Valls, María Voltes, Balma Doumere , Laura Sala, María Collados and Mar Sanahuja, and the Presidents of the Gaiata, Elisabeth Breva and Iker Miralles. It was the turn of the youngest, our numerous Children’s Commission: Alexander Belinschi, Ainara Salinas, Maria Isabella Savin, Alonso Fernandez, Leyre Salinas, Javier Marin, Claudia Alcarria, Quique Molés, Valeria Gonzalez, Víctor López, Lucia Benedito, Carlos Benedito, Lucía Ortiz, Juan Carlos Francisco, Malena García, Alejandra Sáez, Claudia Ortiz, Natalia Queral, Victoria López, and the child honor godmother, Martina Aguilera.

With the rise of the youngest ones to the stage, the second performance of the night arrived, the Musical Cabaret interpreted by the dancers of Castellón Baila. The monumental LED screens were set in Berlin in 1931, where “Cabaret” showed how to be guided by the heart to survive in a sinking world.

After leaving the Kit Kat Club and its most famous cabaret, it was time to welcome the young drought people: Tamara Sabater and Fran Agramunt, Nuria Águila and Alejandro Breva, Maya Aguilera and Jorge Martí, Adriana Llopis and Luis Rivas, Andrea Molés and Adrián Doumere, Noelia Sala and Roberto Belenguer, Raquel de Dios and Pablo Sanahuja, Marta Gual and Daniel Rubia, Lourdes Climent and Lorenzo Martínez, and finally the Godmother of honor Raquel Prats, accompanied by Álvaro Voltes.

And behind them, our magnificent representatives in the magdalena of 2017, the infantile godmother Teresa Doumere with the Infant President Marcos Rodríguez, and the Madrina, Beatriz Belenguer, accompanied by the vice president Vicente Javier Queral.

The stage of the Grand Family Sequiolera only lacked the most important, its maximum representatives for the Magdalena of 2018. But before they could complete it, Àgueda was excited again, given that his tap dancers from the academy Castellón Baila, interpreted a classic, “Singing Under the Rain” by Gene Kelly, a fun comedy set in the passage from silent to sound movies.

With the Palau on its feet, and with the music of “Star Wars”, which kicks off every film in the George Lucas saga, the Madrina 2018 Àgueda Ibars, the Madrina Infantil 2018 Nagore García and the President Infantil 2018 Iker Miralles , made their appearance. The three were very excited, but especially Iker’s face revealed that the chosen music had made him very excited.
After receiving the band and the flowers, and once seated in the central part of the stage, it was the turn of the Offerings, and the first one was musical, from the Academia Castellón Baila, which has as pupils the two Madrinas Sequioleras . The film chosen on this occasion was “The Lion King”. With this performance came another of the surprises of the night. The boys and girls from Nagore in the funky classes, were part of the group of dancers that recreated the “Lion King”, many of them also, classmates from the school. Tears welled up in Nagore’s eyes, especially when the children sat around him. It was a very emotional moment.

Then came the rest of Offerings: Club de Pesca el Gregal, Centro Aragonés, Asturian center, Gallego center, Aragonese center, Castellón Sports Club, Benicasim Town Hall, Viver Town Hall, La Falla “La que faltava” from La Vall d’Uixó, Falla Barrio Valencia from Burriana, Federation of Collas, Federació Gestora de Gaiates represented on this occasion by the Gaiata 1 “Brancal de la Ciutat”, and the City Council of the City of Castellón.

Before undoing the stage, he recovered one of the most famous musicals in history, “Moulin Rouge”, in which a young bohemian writer fell in love with a beautiful courtesan of the cabaret. Spectacular, with LED screens transporting us to Paris in 1900, where Modernity sought to overthrow conventional thinking.

It was time to undo our particular Broadway Theater. The children and young people, our commissions, went down, and it was time to dismiss as they deserved, the top representatives of 2017, Beatriz, Teresa and Marcos. After leaving their memory in the shape of a bowtie on the banners, they greeted for the last time from the top of the stage with emotion and a strong applause from all those attending the Palau.

Before the top representatives of the sequioleros for 2018 left the stage, they recreated one of the most famous musicals in Hollywood’s film history, “Grease” by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. They closed the act Àgueda, Nagore and Iker, coming down from the stage accompanied by the soundtrack of Harry Potter.

The end of the party began as mandated by the protocol with our Rollo y Caña. Music, dancing, photos, laughter, and a lot of joy because the act had gone perfectly.

Now what touched was to think about the monuments gaiateros, the Llibret, the programming of events of the week of the Magdalena, …., and why not? Start thinking about the presentation next year …
